Emphasis on peaceful solution of Ukraine conflict
Prime Minister Modi wrote that he spoke to President Putin today. The Prime Minister said that he discussed measures to further strengthen the special and strategic partnership with the Russian President. He further said that they exchanged views on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the perspective gained from his recent visit to Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi wrote that he reiterated India's firm commitment to support an early, lasting and peaceful solution to the conflict. Earlier, the President of Ukraine had named India for peace talks with Russia.
Ukraine visit was described as historic
Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned home on 24 August after completing his two-nation visit to Poland and Ukraine. Regarding the Ukraine visit, PM Modi had said that my visit to Ukraine was historic. I have come to this great country with the aim of further strengthening India-Ukraine friendship. Modi had said that my talks with President Zelensky were fruitful. India firmly believes that peace should always prevail. He had said that I thank the government and people of Ukraine for their hospitality.
