PM Modi Embarks on Elephant Safari at Kaziranga National Park

Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoyed an elephant and jeep safari at Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve during his inaugural visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On his maiden visit to Kaziranga, PM Modi commenced the day with an elephant safari in the Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range of the park, followed by a jeep safari within the same range. The Prime Minister was accompanied by the park director, Sonali Ghosh, and other senior forest officials.

Having arrived in Kaziranga on Friday evening for a two-day visit to the state, PM Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate the 125-ft high ‘Statue of Valour’ dedicated to the legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan in Jorhat later in the afternoon.

Other Noteworthy Events:

  • PM Modi will proceed to Meleng Meteli Pothar, Jorhat district, to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for both central and state projects totaling around ₹18,000 crore.
  • A public meeting is scheduled at the same venue, where the Prime Minister is expected to address the gathered audience.
