After winning the toss, captain Babar Azam decided to bowl first. On the basis of deadly bowling of Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim, the team stopped Ireland at a score of just 106 runs. Pakistani batsmen disappointed
Pakistan's team had to struggle hard to achieve the small target of 107 runs given by Ireland. The team lost 6 wickets at a score of 62 runs. The pair of Sam Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan could add only 23 runs. Both were out after scoring 17-17 runs. After this, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan and Shadab Khan got out one after the other. Babar Azam stood at one end and led Pakistan to victory by playing an unbeaten innings of 32 runs in 34 balls.

Deadly bowling by Pakistan
Shaheen Afridi proved the Pakistani captain's decision of bowling after winning the toss right by taking two wickets in the first over. He clean bowled Andrew Balbirnie on the second ball and then took the wicket of Lorcan Tucker on the fifth ball. Mohammad Aamir put pressure on the team by sending back Ireland captain Paul Stirling.
