New Delhi. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi says his team is a strong contender to win the T20 World Cup trophy. Afridi says no other team has a bowling attack like his team. Afridi also said that the conditions in the West Indies and the US will suit the Pakistani team. However, Afridi also expressed concern over the poor strike rate of his batsmen in the middle overs. Pakistan has been placed in Group A along with India, Ireland, Canada and the US.

Shahid Afridi said that Pakistan has the best fast attack in the world which includes bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Aamir and Abbas Afridi. T20 World Cup tournament ambassador Afridi told ICC, “I am worried about the strike rate of my batsmen. Especially between the seventh and 13th overs. Hopefully it will improve. Eight to nine runs should be scored per over. In my view, Pakistan is a strong contender for the title.”

Afridi, a member of Pakistan's 2009 World Cup winning team, believes that the fast bowlers will have a big responsibility. Our fast bowlers are amazing. All these bowlers have a big responsibility. Last time Pakistan was defeated by England by five wickets in the final.

'I would choose Babar'
Afridi further said, 'All the players of the team are important but in recent times Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan have played an important role. If I have to choose one, I will choose Babar. He is the captain and I want him to play well and take good decisions to make the team win.' The Pakistan team is currently on a tour of England. A 4-match T20 series is being played between Pakistan and England. After this series, both the teams will leave to play the World Cup.
