“Iran made a big mistake tonight – and it will pay the price,” he said in a post on Twitter.
“Citizens of Israel, at the beginning of my remarks, let me express my condolences to the families of those killed in the despicable terrorist attack in Jaffa and extend my best wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured. Like the missile attack, this terrorist attack also had a deadly guiding hand – it came from Tehran,” he said through his official X account.
Netanyahu confirmed that Israel would pay a price for the attack.
“This evening, Iran made a big mistake – and it will pay a price for it. The regime in Tehran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and exact a price from our enemies. Sinwar and Deif did not understand this; Neither Nasrallah nor Mohsin did so. Obviously, there are people in Tehran who do not understand this. They will be. We will stick to the rule we set: whoever attacks us – we attack them,” he said.
Netanyahu said that Iran's attack failed.
“This evening, Iran again attacked Israel with hundreds of missiles. This attack failed. It was foiled thanks to Israel's air defense system, which is the most advanced in the world. I commend the IDF for this impressive achievement. Citizens of Israel, this too was foiled because of your vigilance and responsibility. I also thank the United States for its support of our defense efforts.
He said Israel is fighting the axis of evil everywhere.
“This is true wherever we fight the axis of evil. This is true in Judea and Samaria. This is true in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen and Syria – and it is also true in Iran. We are fighting the axis of evil everywhere, including in southern Lebanon and Gaza, where our brave soldiers are serving. Today, more than ever, the forces of light in the world must unite and work together against the dark regimes of the Ayatollahs, who are the source of terror and evil in our region,” he said.
Netanyahu affirmed that he will do everything to achieve all our war objectives, especially the return of all our hostages, and ensure their survival and future.
He also said that 'the forces of light in the world' should stand up for Israel.
“They should stand with Israel. Between tyranny and freedom, between blessing and curse, the choice has never been more clear. On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, I say to you, the citizens of Israel: Israel is advancing and the axis of evil is retreating. We will do whatever it takes to continue this trend. To achieve all our war objectives, especially the return of all our hostages, and to ensure our survival and our future. May you all have a good and safe year,'' he said.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that those who attack Israel will have to pay a heavy price.
In a post on Twitter, he said, “I spent this evening at the Command and Control Center with senior defense officials, and witnessed up close the IDF's successful defense against an Iranian missile attack on Israel. “Iran has not learned a simple lesson – those who attack the State of Israel pay a heavy price.”
