According to a tipster named AssembleDebug on X, WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users in India to make international payments through the app. This will be possible with the help of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) which is already part of the app. According to the tipster, this facility will be called International Payments and using it, Indian bank account holders will be able to transfer money abroad. However, you will be able to avail this facility only where banks have enabled International UPI services.

Will have to be enabled manually
A screenshot shared by the leakster shows that users will have to manually enable the international payments feature. Users may also have to choose the period for which they want to keep the service active. The tipster also said that WhatsApp may offer a period of up to three months for this feature, unlike Google Pay's seven-day transaction window.
Notably, major UPI players in India, such as Google Pay and PhonePe, already provide similar services. Since at present this feature has not been confirmed by WhatsApp or other beta testers. In such a situation, it cannot be trusted much. It is possible that some update regarding this may come out in the coming days.
