The reservation counter is here
Even though most people book tickets online now, if you still prefer to buy tickets from the counter, no problem! You can easily find the reservation counter as per the information given here. The reservation office is on the Paharganj side. It is in a separate building called IRCA building, outside the main campus. Turn left as you exit the railway station, you will find this building on the left side less than 100 meters from the exit gate. The railway station also has an unreserved ticket counter, you will find these counters on both sides of the railway station. On the Paharganj side it is in the main building itself and on the Ajmeri Gate side it is located on the first floor of the main building.
There are luxury lounges here
If your train is a little late and you want to sit and wait somewhere, then we have brought a good facility for you. But yes, it depends on which class you are traveling in. There are waiting halls on both sides, which also have washrooms. But, as you know, New Delhi is one of the busiest railway stations, so these halls are always full. Actually, during peak hours it becomes difficult to get a normal chair to sit on the platform. If you want to sit a little comfortably, then there is an option for you – the Executive Lounge located on the Ajmeri Gate side. This lounge is paid, that is, you will have to spend some money for it. But the good thing is that it usually does not require advance booking.
You can find Porter here
You will find porters at the station to help you carry your luggage. They are easy to spot, they wear red shirts/kurtas and have badges on them. You don't even have to look for them, they will find you. If you are coming to catch a train, you will find them near the drop area or the metro exit. If you want to avail their services, negotiate their price in advance.
Cloak Room
So where to keep your luggage, this problem has also been solved by the railways! Yes, luggage storage facility is available for passengers at the railway station itself, that too at a very low cost. To use this facility, you just need to have a ticket to and from Delhi. You will get this facility on platform number 1 and 16. It is available 24 hours a day except for a 15-minute break during the three shift changes in a day.
Retiring room facility is available here
Delhi is a city where there is a constant flow of passengers every day. Many people are just in transit, their stay in Delhi is not more than a few hours, at most a day. The problem for such people is where to stay for a short time, so the railway station has made arrangements for this as well. Retiring rooms are available on both sides of Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate. Staying in them may seem a bit ordinary, but it is not a bad option for a few hours.
And the best part is that you don't even have to step out of the station! Just remember, the rooms have to be booked online. It is difficult to get a room during the journey, so book a retiring room as soon as possible after booking the ticket. These rooms are not available before booking the ticket, as the PNR number and station details have to be entered in the system.
Food options are here
Delhi station has a wonderful 24-hour food court on platform number 1! Passengers can enjoy delicious food from all over the world here. There are a total of 6 shops in this food court, one of which is a special Thai/China zone, where you can enjoy delicious pad thai and sweet-sour chicken. The South Indian outlet serves a variety of delicious vegetarian dishes.
