Postponement of NEET PG is a good move: IMA
On the one hand, doctors are very angry with the cancellation and postponement of NEET PG Exam 2024 a day before. Many have criticized the government. At the same time, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has more than 3.5 lakh doctor members, has issued a statement saying that the difficulties faced by NEET PG candidates are an inevitable consequence of the welcome reforms of the government. They expect a strong system as promised by the government.
Dr. Harsh Mahajan, former president of the Healthcare Federation of India and the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association, also said that postponing the NEET PG exam in view of the alleged paper leak in the NEET-UG case is a step in the right direction. He said, 'There is a need for change in the entire system and the government has started taking action towards reform by forming a new committee.'
The NEET PG exam, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to postgraduate medical programmes in government and private medical colleges across the country, has been postponed. The exam was scheduled to be held on Saturday but was postponed less than 12 hours before its scheduled start amid rumours of a paper leak.
