Rijiju said that the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Wakf (Amendment) Bill has received crores of recommendations. He said that some people are spreading wrong information about the bill. Sources said on Sunday that the Parliamentary Committee considering the Wakf (Amendment) Bill has received 1.2 crore responses through email. The JPC headed by BJP leader Jagdambika Pal has received 75,000 responses with documents. In this, their respective views have been supported.

The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 will hold informal discussions in five states between September 26 and October 1. During this, various stakeholders will be involved in an effort to simplify the proposed changes in the Waqf Act.
