The post shared on Twitter said, 'AMMA (Malayalam Movie Artists Association) led by actor Mohanlal has resigned en masse in the case of allegations of physical abuse in the Malayalam film industry. All 17 executive members including Mohanlal have resigned.'

Allegations of constant harassment against actors, producers and technicians

On Tuesday, August 27, Mohanlal and the entire executive committee were dissolved after female artists accused some of the committee members of harassment. Recently, after the Hema Committee report was made public on August 19, many women have been continuously accusing actors, producers and technicians of harassment.

Two film personalities also resigned

The association has also issued a statement stating that a new governing body will be selected soon. The statement issued by the association said, 'We hope that AMMA will get new leadership which will make the association new and strong. Thanks to everyone for criticism and improvement.' The association also informed everyone that a general meeting will be called within two months to select the new governing body.
