New Delhi: Making indecent comments on National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma has proved costly for MP Mahua Moitra. Delhi Police has registered a case on Mahua Moitra's statement. The Cyber Unit of Delhi Police's Special Cell has filed this FIR against the TMC MP. A case has been registered against the TMC MP under section 79 of the new criminal law. The Women's Commission had filed a complaint on Friday against the indecent comments made on Rekha Sharma.

Mahua had also shared a photo in that post in which a person was walking behind the NCW chairperson with an umbrella.
Women's commission expressed displeasure over MahuaThe National Commission for Women had lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police, objecting to Mahua Moitra's ex-post. On Mahua's statement, the NCW said that the NCW has taken suo motu cognizance of the derogatory remarks made by MP Mahua Moitra against Speaker Rekha Sharma. These comments violate the dignity of women and fall under Section 79 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023. The National Commission for Women strongly condemns this. Demands immediate action. The Commission said that a formal letter has been written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla which has also been emailed. A formal letter has also been emailed to the Delhi Police.
Mahua had challenged to come to Nadia
After this statement, Mahua Moitra had challenged the Delhi Police on the growing controversy. Mahua said that Delhi Police, take action quickly. I am in Nadia (West Bengal).
