New Delhi: The Kolkata woman doctor case will be heard again in the Supreme Court today. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud will hear the case, which includes Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra besides the CJI. On August 20, the Supreme Court in its order constituted a 10-member National Task Force (NTF) headed by Surgeon Vice Admiral and DG Medical Services (Navy) Aarti Sareen. Kolkata Police and Government were reprimanded
In the hearing held on August 20, the Supreme Court had criticized the Kolkata Police and the state. The court had said that you did not investigate on time and allowed the mob to vandalize the hospital. Expressing serious concern over the death of the doctor, the Supreme Court had warned the Bengal government not to exercise any kind of authority on peaceful protesters.

Other members of the NTF constituted by the Supreme Court include Hyderabad-based Asian Institute of Gastroenterology chairman D Nageswara Reddy, AIIMS Delhi director M Srinivas, Nimhans Bengaluru director Pratima Murthy, Jodhpur AIIMS executive director Goverdhan Dutt Puri, Ganga Ram Hospital's Saumitra Rawat, Rohtak-based Pandit BD Sharma Medical University vice-chancellor Anita Saxena, Mumbai-based Grant Medical College dean Pallavi Saple and Paras Health Gurugram neurology head Padma Srivastava. The three-member bench had termed the incident as horrific and said that it reflects a systematic failure of the state machinery.
