Life has become hell… Student writes letter to Chief Justice on deaths in Delhi coaching centre

New Delhi: The case of the death of three students due to drowning in the basement of the IAS coaching center in Delhi is gaining momentum. On one hand, the politics of the country has heated up on this issue. On the other hand, after the accident, Delhi MCD has started sealing action against the coaching centers running in the basement. In such a situation, the trouble of those students who have to appear for the Mains exam has increased. However, the students also seem to be ready for a do-or-die battle on this issue. In this sequence, a student of a coaching center in Delhi has written a letter to Chief Justice DY Chandrachud demanding action. Student Avinash Dubey said that areas like Rajendra Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar often get flooded due to poor infrastructure. He has blamed the negligence of the Municipal Corporation for this. He has demanded protection of the fundamental rights of the students. He has written that due to the indifference of the Municipal Corporation and the Delhi Government, today the students are preparing for their exams while living a life like hell. The Chief Justice has not yet decided whether this letter will be seen as a petition or not.

'Even fire incidents are ignored'

Avinash Dubey, while talking to news channel NDTV, has expressed concern over the poor living conditions of students and the problem of waterlogging in Delhi. He said that the safety of students is the responsibility of coaching institutes, but in reality it does not happen. Dubey said that coaching institutes are careless about the safety of students. No action is taken even on incidents like fire. He told that the rent of even a small room is up to 8-9 thousand rupees. In Karol Bagh, some students are forced to live in the basement. Landlords adopt a dictatorial attitude towards tenants. Dubey said, 'The safety of students is the moral responsibility of coaching institutes. But if something happens to someone, then no one takes responsibility. He said that no action was taken even in the incident of fire in the coaching institute.'

'Education is a fundamental right'

The student wrote that it is their fundamental right to study while living a healthy life. The problem of waterlogging is a threat to the health and safety of the students. He said, 'Sir, it is our fundamental right to study while living a healthy life. This incident is heart-wrenching and worrying. Waterlogging is a serious threat to the health and safety of the students.' Dubey has appealed to the Supreme Court to direct the authorities to find a permanent solution to the problem of waterlogging. Along with this, emergency and medical facilities should also be strengthened. He also demanded to ensure proper arrangements for drainage of water.

'Students need a safe and healthy environment'

Dubey further said, 'Students need a safe and healthy environment so that they can study without any fear and contribute to the development of the country. Dubey has appealed to the country's top court to direct the authorities to take immediate and effective steps to find a permanent solution to the waterlogging problem. Along with this, instructions have also been requested to strengthen emergency and medical response measures. It has also been said that proper drainage of water should also be ensured.
