New Delhi: Justice V Sreeshanand of Karnataka High Court, who addressed a colony in Bengaluru as 'Pakistan' during the hearing, may face problems. Consideration is going on to send him to some other High Court outside the Karnataka High Court. This view is being expressed by a bench of top 5 judges of the Supreme Court, which had taken suo motu cognizance of his remarks. Also heard the case and after apologizing, the case was closed. Apart from Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, the collegium includes Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hrishikesh Roy. The Registrar General of the Karnataka High Court, in a report dated September 23, had expressed concern over some of Justice Srishananda's comments. The collegium is now considering the transfer of Justice Shrishanand on the basis of this report.

Collegium is angry with controversial statements

The Supreme Court took cognizance of this matter and expressed strong objection. The court said to take action on this. Later on September 21, Justice Shrishanand tendered an unconditional apology in open court and withdrew his remarks.
