IPS officer appointed for investigation
Home Minister G Parameshwara said an IPS officer has been appointed to review all arrangements in the state's prisons. He said the government cannot decide to shift Darshan to another jail. “It will be decided by the jail authorities in consultation with the court and other authorities. The government does not decide it. Since they (Darshan and co-accused) are under trial, there are certain criteria on the basis of which the authorities will take a decision,” G Parameshwara said.
Everything was captured on CCTV
Parmeshwar said that some lapses were found in the jail, prisoners were allowed to go from one barrack to another and all this was captured in CCTV. So action was taken against the jail officials. He said, 'Nine officials have been suspended, they will be replaced. Even the chief superintendent and superintendent have been suspended. Apart from this, those who helped Darshan and his group by providing chairs, coffee, cigarettes… all these things have been captured in CCTV, on the basis of which all of them have been suspended.'

Asked when the authorities would decide, he said, “They will decide in a day or two.” Following a preliminary inquiry into the “special treatment” given to Darshan, nine jail officials, including the chief superintendent of Parappana Agrahara prison, were suspended on Monday for their “lapses”. Besides, three FIRs were also registered against Darshan under sections of the Prison Act and the Indian Penal Code (BNS).

The people sitting with Darshan in the viral photo were also gangsters.
