New Delhi. The winning campaign of Rajasthan Royals continues. The team captained by Sanju Samson registered its eighth win in IPL 2024 by defeating Lucknow Supergiants by 7 wickets. With 8 wins in 9 matches, Rajasthan has 16 points and this team has almost confirmed its place in the playoffs. It has never happened before in the history of IPL that a team has not reached the playoffs with sixteen points. Rajasthan is on top in the points table with 16 points. However, one more win will automatically give them entry into the playoffs.

After Rajasthan, Kolkata Knight Riders, SRH, LSG and DC come in the top four in the IPL 2024 points table. After the top-ranked Rajasthan Royals, the second, third and fourth placed teams have equal 10 points. Whereas Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans are at fifth and sixth position respectively with 8-8 points. The condition of Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore is bad.

Difficult road ahead for Punjab, Mumbai and RCB
Punjab Kings have played 9 matches so far. It has won 3 matches while facing defeat in 7 matches. Same is the condition of 5-time champion Mumbai Indians. Mumbai, captained by Hardik Pandya, has been able to win only 3 out of 9 matches. Punjab and Mumbai are at 8th and 9th position with 6-6 points, while RCB has lost 7 out of 9 matches. With 4 points, RCB is at the lowest position i.e. 10th.

The playoff race became interesting
This time the race for the playoffs has become very interesting. Punjab and Mumbai now have 5-5 matches left. If both the teams win their remaining five matches, then they will have equal 16-16 points, while now even a defeat will be costly for Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans. CSK still has 6 matches.
