IND vs BAN: Selectors dropped 4 players, did not give them a chance in the team, one was dropped despite good performance


New Delhi. Team India has been announced for the Test series against Bangladesh. Players like Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel have been given a chance in the series. The Indian team will play the Test match under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma from 19 September. The selectors have dropped a total of 4 players for this series. There is one player in the list who was dropped from the team despite scoring runs.

Devdutt Padikkal made his Test debut for India against England in Dharamsala on 7 March 2024. He came in to bat at number 4 for the Rohit Sharma-led side and scored 65 runs off 103 balls. Despite scoring a fifty on Test debut, he is not part of the Indian squad for the first Test against Bangladesh.

Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar was part of India's Test team in the last series against England, he got a chance to play in only one match in the series. He missed taking a wicket in the first innings, but was successful in dismissing an English batsman in the second innings. Mukesh is not a part of the Test series against Bangladesh.

Rajat Patidar made his Test debut against England in Vizag. He played three matches. In which he scored a total of 63 runs. He was ruled out of the fifth Test match due to injury. Due to poor performance, he did not get a chance in the series against Bangladesh.

Wicketkeeper batsman KS Bharat played in the first two Test matches against England. But his performance was not very good. After which he was dropped from the playing XI, but he remained a part of the Test team. KS made his Test debut for India against Australia in Nagpur on 9 February 2023. He is not part of the series against Bangladesh.
