Rajkummar Rao's film 'Srikant' had a pleasant first week at the box office. Srikant, a visually impaired businessman, said that this biopic has not only earned crores of rupees in seven days but has also won hearts. This film has once again proved that if the story and content are strong, then the audience's love is received slowly but surely. While for the last two months, the biggest films are flopping and creating a stir at the box office, 'Srikant', made with a budget of Rs 40 crore, has done business of about 45% of its cost in the first 7 days. Now Shreyas Talpade's 'Kartam Bhogtham' is also releasing on Friday. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether it has any effect on the earnings of 'Srikant' or not. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, 'Srikant' was released on Friday, May 10. It clashed with the Hollywood film 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' at the box office. Interestingly, even though the 'Planet of the Apes' franchise film has earned Rs 85 lakh more than 'Srikant' in these seven days, the Hollywood film has lagged behind in terms of the number of viewers. More people have come to watch 'Srikant' in theaters. While 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' earned more due to higher ticket rates in IMAX and 4DX versions.

'12th Fail' earned Rs 13 crore in first seven days
Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F and Jyothika starrer 'Srikanth' is being compared to Vikrant Massey's '12th Fail'. The reason is that both the films tell the story of success through struggle. Interestingly, the 2023 superhit film '12th Fail' did a business of Rs 13.04 crore in its first week. That means the earning speed of 'Srikanth' is even higher than this. Made with a budget of Rs 20 crore, '12th Fail' had a lifetime net collection of Rs 56.38 crore.
'Empire of the Planet of the Apes'
'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes', released on Friday, has also been successful in pleasing the Indian audience in the first week. This film has made a net collection of Rs 1.46 crore on Thursday. Whereas its total collection of the first week is Rs 18.75 crore.
Trailer release of Shreyas Talpade's film 'Kartam Bhugatam', will be seen on screen for the first time after heart attack.
'Kartam Bhugatam' is releasing on Friday
There is an atmosphere of lethargy in theaters for the last two months. In such a situation, 'Srikanth' has come like a light shower with his sweet smile. The earnings may not be bumper, but it is succeeding in bringing the audience to the theatres. Now on Friday, May 17, Shreyas Talpade, Vijay Raaz and Madhu's 'Kartam Bhugatam' is also being released. However, there doesn't seem to be much emphasis being given to this film. The makers have not put much effort into the promotion of the film. Apart from this, the number of film shows in theaters is also very less. Therefore, 'Srikanth' does not seem to suffer much loss due to this.
