Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) told on its social media account how any passenger can book a lower berth seat for their elders.

As soon as IRCTC came to know about this, they responded to the passenger's tweet and explained how you can get a seat in the lower berth. Railways said, if you book a ticket under the general quota, you get a seat allotted only if there is a seat. If there is no seat, you will not get a seat. If you book under Reservation Choice Book, you will get a lower berth only if a lower berth is allotted.
