If you also book your Tatkal ticket or VIP ticket from an agent, then you should have all their details, because during ticket checking you will be asked for all their details. If the ticket turns out to be fake then you will suffer the biggest loss.

If a passenger is caught traveling by train without a ticket, he can face jail up to six months or a fine not exceeding Rs 1,000. The minimum amount of fine is Rs 250, which will also include the ticket price for the distance traveled by the passenger.

Passengers booking tickets online will also have to produce a valid ID along with the e-ticket.
