With India's victory over South Africa (IND vs SA) in the T20 World Cup final, Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach also ended. Dravid said in a video released by BCCI, 'I am actually a person who likes continuity. I don't like too much chopping and changing because I believe it creates a lot of instability and does not create a very good environment. I feel that I am part of the team whose responsibility is to create the right professional, safe, protected environment in which there is really no fear of failure, but there are enough challenges to push people forward. This has always been my endeavor.'

I had to work with five-six captains in 8-10 months
Rahul Dravid said that when the players came out after the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a difficult phase and he never thought that he would have to work with half a dozen captains. He said, 'In the initial phase of my coaching, we were coming out of the restrictions of COVID. We had to manage the workload in all three formats. Some players got injured and due to this I had to work with five-six captains in 8-10 months.'

'I did not imagine this'
Dravid said, 'This was something I had not imagined or thought but it happened naturally. Under Dravid's coaching, India defeated England in the five-Test series and the team reached the final of the ODI World Cup. According to Dravid, 'The positive thing after the removal of Kovid restrictions was that we played a lot of cricket. In the last two and a half years, we have given opportunities to many young players, especially in limited overs cricket. In the recent past, we have also given opportunities to some young players in Test cricket.'

“That’s something I’m going to miss.”
Dravid has known captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for a long time. Both of them started their international careers when they were at the end of their careers. He said, 'I really enjoyed working with Rohit, whom I knew for a long time. I saw him mature as a person and a captain. I loved his commitment to the team and his caring nature. He created an atmosphere in the team that made everyone feel safe. This is something I will miss.'
