Recently, Union minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan has demanded a caste census, a demand repeatedly made by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Paswan was one of the first NDA leaders to express reservations about the UPSC advertisement seeking lateral entry recruitment for 45 posts in the bureaucracy.
