Home Ministry gave an amount of Rs 5,858 crore to 14 flood affected states, know how much amount was given to which state.


New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has released an amount of Rs 5,858.60 crore as central share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and advance from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to 14 flood-affected states. An Inter Ministerial Center Team (IMCT) was sent to assess the damage on the spot in the flood-affected states of Assam, Mizoram, Kerala, Tripura, Nagaland, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Manipur. Whereas in Bihar and West Bengal, IMCTs will soon be sent to assess the damage on the spot. The Home Ministry said that as per the existing arrangement, additional financial assistance from NDRF will be sanctioned to the affected states after receiving the assessment report of IMCT. According to the ministry, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, funds worth more than Rs 14,958 crore have been released to 21 states this year. This includes Rs 9,044 crore to 21 states from SDRF, Rs 4528 crore to 15 states from NDRF and Rs 1385 crore to 11 states from State Disaster Mitigation Fund.

Which state received how much financial assistance?

The central government has given Rs 1,492 crore to Maharashtra, Rs 1,036 crore to Andhra Pradesh, Rs 716 crore to Assam, Rs 655.60 crore to Bihar, Rs 600 crore to Gujarat, Rs 189.20 crore to Himachal Pradesh, Rs 145.60 crore to Kerala. Rs 50 crore has been released to Manipur, Rs 21.60 crore to Mizoram, Rs 19.20 crore to Nagaland, Rs 23.60 crore to Sikkim, Rs 416.80 crore to Telangana, Rs 25 crore to Tripura and Rs 468 crore to West Bengal.

These states have been affected by excessive rains, floods and landslides during the monsoon this year. Apart from financial assistance, the Central Government has also provided all logistical support to all flood affected States including deployment of requisite NDRF and Army teams and Air Force support.
