New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting on Monday regarding the security situation in Manipur, which has been waiting for peace for more than a year. In this meeting, it was decided that central forces will be deployed as per the strategy to restore peace and harmony in Manipur. Also, the deployment of forces will be increased as per the need. So that an atmosphere of peace can be maintained in Manipur. The meeting was attended by Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, IB Chief Tapan Deka, next Army Chief Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Security Advisor to Manipur Government, DG of Assam Rifles, Chief Secretary of Manipur and DGP and other senior officials of the Army and Home Ministry.

Manipur was discussed in the Home Ministry meeting
The security of Manipur was reviewed in this high-level meeting held in North Block regarding Manipur. The Home Minister directed the officials that there should be no further incidents of violence in Manipur. He said that strict action should be taken against those who commit violence as per the law. He stressed the importance of a coordinated approach to resolve the current ethnic conflict. He said that the Home Ministry will also talk to both the groups, Meitei and Kuki, as soon as possible. So that the gap between the two communities can be bridged.

Home Minister gave instructions to the Chief Secretary of Manipur
The Government of India is actively cooperating with the state government in strengthening the security situation in Manipur. Amit Shah said that the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fully committed to ensuring the safety of the people of Manipur. Shah also reviewed the situation of relief camps, especially the proper availability of other essential basic amenities including food, water and medicines. The Home Minister also ordered the Chief Secretary of Manipur to provide proper health and education facilities to the displaced people as well as their rehabilitation.

It is worth noting that after the ethnic violence that broke out in Manipur on May 3, 2023, recently on June 10, after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed concern over the lack of peace in Manipur even after a year, a high-level meeting has been held in the Home Ministry regarding this matter.
