'Hindustani 2' Review: 28 years of long wait, but Kamal Haasan's 'Indian' makes a weak comeback

The story of the film 'Hindustani 2' begins in the present time, about three decades after the first film 'Hindustani'. In the film, a new-age youth Chitra Aravindan (Siddharth) along with his friends wage a war against corrupt politicians and officers through videos on the Internet. But when he loses courage, he remembers Hindustani and starts a campaign on the Internet for its return. As a result, the general who has been living in Taipei (Taiwan) for a long time comes to India to take this war forward.

Actually, Hindustani was teaching a lesson to the scamsters who had fled the country. This time, many young friends including Chitra Aravindan are also with Senapathi in this fight. But then the matter takes a different turn. Is Senapathi successful in his fight to teach a lesson to the corrupt leaders and to free the common people from corruption? 'Hindustani' movie review

The film's director Shankar had the challenge of presenting something new on the silver screen after almost three decades, in which he has not been able to succeed with the help of a much older hero. Especially the story and screenplay of the film are not strong. It is true that if corruption was a wound three decades ago, now it has become a sore. Therefore, this film made on this burning issue connects the audience with it right from the beginning. But the pace of the film slows down before the interval.

The story of the film does not create much excitement in the second half. This nearly three-hour long film could have been tightened a bit on the editing table. However, the film ends on an interesting twist in the climax. Since the makers have already announced that its sequel will be released next year, the story remains incomplete. Many problems of dubbing and subtitles are also felt in the Hindi dubbed version of the film.

Talking about the actors, it would not be wrong to call 'Hindustani 2' a completely Kamal Haasan film. Kamal Haasan has tried his best to carry a film with a weak story on his shoulders. Siddharth has also done a wonderful job in this film. The rest of the actors of the film have also acted well according to their characters. The camera, cinematography and background score of the film definitely add life to it, but the music is nothing special.
