Funds are given for the treatment of 14 incurable diseases from Bihar Medical Assistance Fund Scheme.
On the recommendation, apart from the 14 diseases included in the list, there is a provision to provide an assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh from the government for the treatment of other diseases. Under the scheme, assistance is provided only to patients undergoing treatment in government and CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) affiliated hospitals. In this, along with Begusarai Sadar Hospital, New Amrit Jeevan Hospital, Alexia Hospital, Roopdev Hospital, assistance is also provided from the fund for treatment outside the state.
