Governance as well as politics, but many questions arose as soon as the budget was presented

New Delhi: The first budget of the third term of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government had a political theme – governance as well as politics. The budget showed an attempt to fulfill political objectives through governance and its limitations were also visible. The limitations of the coalition government were also visible, due to which the NDA government had to compromise somewhere. In such a situation, some ambitious schemes of the Modi government which were already running were not expanded. For example, the central government indicated that it could expand the Ayushman scheme, the insurance amount could be increased for this, but it was postponed. Also, there was a discussion that the government could form the 8th Pay Commission to remove the resentment of central employees, but here too it was postponed.Efforts to maintain the image of Robin Hood government will continue
In the first budget of Modi 3.0, a clear message was given that the Modi government will continue to try to maintain the image of a Robin Hood government. Recently, the opposition has accused the government of being anti-poor. This also caused political damage. This happened in the first term as well. Then, while doing an image makeover, the Modi government later created its image as a government of the poor. In this budget, the path of moving forward on the same course correction was chosen. For this, the risk of angering the middle class and the stock market was also taken. If we look at the budget, then to keep the rural population and farmers happy, allocation for MNREGA was made 86 thousand crores. Allocation for urea subsidy was increased. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is already continuing. Apart from this, the focus was on increasing allocation for housing scheme and other such schemes.

When the time comes, we will convince the angry sections
The government took the risk of prolonging the wait for the relief package for its strongest core voter, the middle class. In recent years, the middle class has increased its participation in politics. This section has played the most important role in shaping the narrative and the BJP has received a lot of support from them in these years. In such a situation, the risk of ignoring their expectations can be a big challenge for the government in the coming days. But the NDA knows that the 2029 general election is still far away and there will be many opportunities to improve the guidelines in the future. In 2019 also, similar resentment was seen among farmers and the middle class just before the general elections. But the Modi government had gained their support by announcing the Kisan Samman Nidhi and giving some concessions in income tax in the last budget of its first term.
