History dates back to 2500 BC
Evidence obtained from a research conducted near the Hindon River in Ghaziabad shows that the city of Ghaziabad dates back to 2500 BC. There is a village named Kot on the eastern border of Ghaziabad. It is said that it had the support of Samudragupta. There was a fierce war between Samudragupta and Kot Kuljam in the fourth century. After conquering the fort, Samudragupta performed Ashwamedha Yagya in Kot village itself. It was from here that the foundation of Ghaziabad was laid and this city came into existence.
