You are continuously active in all mediums like films, TV, OTT. Where do you enjoy more?
I like doing films and OTT the most. Actually, there are many stories which are difficult to tell in two-three hours, because there are many characters in it and each character has its own track and flavour. Earlier, if such stories did not fit into the structure of the film, then they could not be made. Now OTT has come for such stories, where you can make a series of 8 to 10 episodes. On the other hand, TV is a business. In TV, the story ends after the initial 30 to 40 episodes. After that only business runs, where money is everything. People have a production house in which 300 people work, so their house should run. TV shows help daily wage laborers to run their house, so TV is also very important, but if you say that I will tell a story there, then you cannot tell a good story for 300 episodes. After a time, only rote things run there, which we call printing press.

You earned a lot of fame in Marathi cinema, but you could not repeat that success in Hindi films. What do you think is the reason for this?
See, Marathi cinema is limited to only one state, Maharashtra. Whereas the scope of Hindi cinema is very large. Therefore, it will take time to connect with the Hindi audience. First of all, our intention is to take Marathi cinema to the whole of India, but we are also engaged in Hindi. Work will be done there gradually too. If you see, I have been working in Marathi for the last eight years. Whereas in Hindi, it has been only three-three and a half years and three years are very less for a person who has no one in the industry. I do not have any relative producer who will make a film with me, so it will take some time to get the right film and for it to work. During this time I have done TV, web, reality shows, films will also happen 100 percent.

Your character in 'Gunaah' is a little grey, like an anti-hero. Anti-heroes are quite popular these days and people have mixed reactions towards them. For example, take the example of 'Animal'. What is your opinion about this?
You have given the example of two different worlds. The worlds of 'Gunaah' and 'Animal' are very different. Yes, my character is an anti-hero. But there is a good reason behind everything he does. You want him to succeed in his goal, even if some of the things he does are wrong according to society. There is no violence in our show like 'Animal'. The best thing I liked about this show is that my mother, who watches daily soaps, likes it and my friend, who is a movie buff and never watches daily soaps, also likes it.

You said that you are happy that your mother can also watch this show. In such a situation, if you get a role like 'Animal', would you like to do it?
Why not? I am an actor. I will definitely do any good role I get. Do you think my role in 'Animal' was not good? I think any actor would want to do such a role.

You did Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and now you are doing Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. What is your interest in reality shows?
I did Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa because I wanted to improve my dance. There I got to learn new international dance styles. I wanted to experience it, wanted to give a memorable performance. Similarly, I did Khatron Ke Khiladi because I wanted to get my fitness back. Due to constant work, my fitness had been left behind. Khatron Ke Khiladi inspired me to work on my fitness again.
