Although Mirza Ghalib was originally from Agra, he moved to Delhi at the age of 11. He married Umrao Begum in 1812 and began writing poetry under the name Ghalib in Delhi. Thus, Delhi is often considered his birthplace in terms of his poetic journey. Ghalib Ki Haveli was his residence during the 19th century, and he did not purchase it; it was a gift. Ghalib is believed to have spent his last years in this house.

Upon entering the mansion, you’ll find a collection of Ghalib’s books displayed on a marble statue. Please note that the mansion remains closed on Mondays and government holidays, but you can explore it from 11 am to 6 pm on other days. There is no entry fee for visiting Ghalib Ki Haveli.
