Almonds are Amazing
Almonds are super healthy, and having them every day can be great for your body. But how many almonds should you eat daily? Well, it depends on your age. Let’s find out the right amount for children, adults, and the elderly.
Age Matters
Dr. Manisha, a dietitian from well known Hospital in New Delhi, explains that everyone’s body is different, so our nutritional needs vary. Your age, weight, and any health conditions you might have play a role in what you should eat. However, there are some general guidelines that apply to most people.
No Magic Number
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer for how many almonds to eat each day, but research can give us some clues. It’s also important to know how to eat almonds the right way: soak them overnight and enjoy them with or without the skin in the morning. The number of almonds you should eat depends on your age and weight. Here’s a rough idea:
- Children (5-10 years): 2-4 almonds daily.
- Youth (18-20 years and above): 6-8 almonds daily.
What the Studies Say
Dr. Manisha points out that based on several studies, young adults should aim for about 12 almonds per day. This amount provides around 4 grams of protein, which is essential. Twelve almonds equal about 14 grams of nuts, giving your body four grams of protein. They also contain around 85-87 calories and 6-9 grams of healthy fats, plus 1 to 2 grams of fiber.
Extra Almonds for Kids
Children need extra nutrition for their growth and development. According to some international studies, children should have more almonds than adults. In India, where economic conditions can vary, around 10 almonds daily should be sufficient for children. This can provide them with a good amount of protein.
Eating Almonds: Good for Your Brain and Skin
Almonds are packed with healthy fats, including unsaturated fatty acids that are excellent for your brain. They’re also a skin-friendly snack, as they contain skin-loving vitamin E. Plus, almonds are a great source of protein.
In a nutshell (pun intended), almonds are a fantastic addition to your daily diet, and now you know just how many to munch on based on your age. Enjoy the benefits of these little wonders!
