After a long wait, NTA finally released the CUET UG result on Sunday. Admissions will be done on the basis of CUET score in some courses of many universities including Delhi University, Ambedkar University and IP University, Jamia Millia Islamia.
DU Dean Admissions Prof Haneet Gandhi says, we will open the correction window on Tuesday i.e. 30th July 2024. So that the students who have registered by filling the form in the first phase of the Common Seat Allocation System can correct minor mistakes in the form. We hope that NTA will share the result with us on Monday, which our team will review in a day or two and start the second phase of the CSAS window. That is, students will fill the choice of different courses and colleges of DU in a sequence for admission in UG courses. After this, different colleges will be allotted to them on the basis of CUET score and choice of the students.
DU Tie Breaker: More use of tie breaker this time!
For the last two years, students used to get normalized scores in CUET UG results. But, this time the result will not have percentiles but raw scores. Prof. Haneet says that this time normalized scores are not being given but raw scores. Because of this, we think that we will use the tie-breaker formula. If some students have the same score in CUET, then DU uses the tie-breaker formula for this. In this, the role of 12th class score is important. In this situation, which student will get the seat will be decided on the basis of the score of best 3/best 4/best 5 subjects/age.
DU New Session Date 2024: Session difficult from August 16?
DU VC Prof. Yogesh Singh says that DU aims to start UG classes from August 16. However, this will be quite difficult as NTA has released the results quite late. DU will have to give at least one week to the students to fill the course-college preference and to start the new session, DU will have to conduct at least two rounds of admissions.
Even if DU opens the window for filling course-college preferences this week, the first round of admission will start in the second week of August. Dean Admission Prof. Haneet says that we will try our best. This time we will not be able to give 15 days to the students to fill the course and college preferences. But we will give one week to ten days. A decision will be taken on this on Monday.
DU UG Admission 2024: Fill as many combinations as possible
The admission process in DU is being done online through Common Seat Allocation System 2024 (CSAS). In the first phase of the form, students have registered with the required information. Now in the second phase after the result is out, they will select the college and course as per the eligibility and fill their preferences.
Prof. Haneet says that students can start making their list of choices by looking at the information bulletin. Students have to fill the combinations as per their choice, so prepare for it carefully. The more combinations students fill, the better their chances of admission. There are more than 1500 course college combinations in DU.
