Demand for India-Pakistan match tickets increased, fans will have to shell out

Mumbai, August 26, 2023 – The much-anticipated Asia Cup is just around the corner, set to commence on August 30th. The 6-nation cricket tournament promises thrilling matches and intense competition. The opening clash will see Pakistan facing Nepal in Multan, marking the start of a series of 13 matches scheduled for the event. Out of these, 4 matches are slated to be played in Pakistan, while the remaining 9, including the final, will take place in Sri Lanka.

Team India’s matches are exclusively planned for Sri Lanka. The participating teams are divided into two groups. India, Pakistan, and Nepal form one group, whereas Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan constitute the other. The Pakistan Cricket Board is hosting and organizing the event, culminating in an exciting final match on September 17.

A highlight of the tournament will undoubtedly be the highly anticipated encounter between India and Pakistan, scheduled for September 2. Tickets for this monumental clash are priced at a maximum of Rs 25,000. The two rivals, India and Pakistan, are expected to secure the top two positions in their group.

For the first time, Nepal’s team will engage in an ODI match against both India and Pakistan. Another potential face-off between these arch-rivals is on the cards in the Super-4 stage, scheduled for September 10 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Tickets for this encounter are priced at 600 dollars, approximately 50 thousand rupees. This cost is twice that of the league round tickets. The grand finale match tickets are also available, with a maximum price of Rs 50,000.

Fans looking to witness the action live can opt for various ticket categories. The cheapest option comes in at around Rs 4,000, while other options include tickets priced at 8 thousand, 10 thousand, 12 thousand, and 16 thousand rupees. A tantalizing possibility arises if India and Pakistan both secure spots in the top-2 positions in the Super-4 stage, setting the stage for a potential clash in the final.

Speaking of historical records, India boasts the most Asia Cup titles with 7 victories. The defending champions, Sri Lanka, have secured the title 6 times, while Pakistan has emerged victorious twice.
