Delhi-Meerut Expressway will remain closed for 5 days at the end of July, know where the police changed the Kanwar route


Kanwar Yatra has great importance in the month of Sawan. Every year Kanwar Yatra is taken out from different parts of India. This year this favorite pilgrimage of millions of devotees of Lord Shiva has started. Devotees have set out on the journey to bring holy water from the river Ganga. Some routes have been diverted for the Kanwariyas traveling on foot, while some have been completely closed.

One of these is the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. If you are planning to travel via the Delhi-Meerut Expressway at the end of July, then this route has been closed from 28 July to 4 August. If you are planning to travel via these routes, then definitely check the diversion plan of the police.

This scheme will come into effect from July 26

If you are going to travel by car or bike on this route, then let us tell you that the diversion plan is going to be implemented from 12 midnight on 26th July. This diversion plan will be applicable till 8 pm on 5th August.

Kanwariyas pass through these routes

Kanwariyas usually use three routes to come to Ghaziabad from Delhi and UP. The first is the pipeline road going to Haridwar. This road goes from Loni Road to Niwari. Most of the Kanwariyas also go via Delhi Expressway. At the same time, a good number of Kanwariyas also take the route of NH 34 from GT Road.

Phase 1 (22-24 July): Heavy vehicles like trucks and buses will ply via NH 9 and Eastern Peripheral Expressway, while smaller vehicles will ply via NH 58 and the expressway.
Phase 2 (25-28 July): Small vehicles coming from Delhi to Haridwar on NH-58 will have to travel in the left lane only.
Phase 3 (July 29-August 4): Entry of all vehicles will be restricted on Delhi Meerut Express.
