Advice to apply for biennial admission in PhD, PG and then UG

UGC says that for double admission, the university will have to prepare its plan very thoughtfully. Infrastructure, faculty and support system will have to be looked at. Only after that double admission can be taken. The institutes can adopt this formula for PhD first, then PG and after full preparation for UG course.

This rule of UGC will benefit those students who could not take admission in July-August due to some reason or whose name did not appear in the admission list. Such students will not have to wait for a year and they will be able to apply in January-February on the basis of their old scores.

The UGC says that the new academic session in Indian universities and colleges begins in July-August and ends in May-June. For higher education institutions that conduct admissions twice a year, if they recognise the result of any entrance exam or board exam other than CUET in the first admission cycle, the same result will be recognised in the second admission cycle as well.

Focus on distance education, a new university will be built

UGC says that under the new National Education Policy (NEP), a target has been set to increase the gross enrollment (GER) of students in higher education by 50 percent by 2035. For this, focus is being placed on distance education and a new university is also being created.

UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadeesh Kumar said that if Indian universities give admission twice a year, it will be very beneficial for the students. Students whose board results have been delayed or some students could not take admission in the July-August session due to health problems or personal reasons, they can participate in the admission process to be held in January-February.

Meetings are being held twice regarding the board exams

At the same time, a series of meetings is going on regarding the conduct of board examinations twice a year. On this issue, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has to submit its detailed plan to the Ministry of Education. Currently, the board examinations start from February 15 and continue till the beginning of April. Meanwhile, the JEE Main exam for engineering is held at the end of January. Then the board examinations begin. After the board examinations, there is the second phase of JEE Main. Then the medical entrance exam NEET-UG is held in the first week of May and CUET-UG from May 15-31. In such a situation, there is a lot of discussion about the time of the second board examination.
