Whereas, in the last election, the party had won 303 seats on its own. However, together with other NDA allies, the party is once again in a position to form the government at the center. The special thing is that the party has been completely wiped out in 7 states and 4 union territories of the country.
Vote share also decreased along with seats
This time in the election, BJP has suffered a setback in vote share as well as seats. The party seems to be winning around 240 seats this time. At the same time, in the last election, the party had won 303 seats. In the 2014 election, the party had touched the figure of 282 seats on its own. This time the party has got 36.61 percent votes. At the same time, in the year 2019, the vote share of the party was 37.69. However, in the year 2014, the party had secured 31 percent votes. Congress has secured 21.26 percent votes this year. Whereas in the last general election, the party got 19.66 percent votes. In the last election, Congress had won 52 seats. This time Congress seems to be winning around 100 seats.
Setback to BJP in Punjab, Manipur
BJP has suffered a big setback in Punjab. The party has been completely wiped out in Punjab. The party had two MPs in the last election. This time BJP has failed to win even a single seat in Punjab. BJP could not form an alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab. The party had to bear the brunt of this. The party once again failed to open its account in Tamil Nadu in South India. PM Modi's continuous visits and election campaigns did not benefit the party here. The party could not win even a single seat out of the 39 seats in the state. Congress captured two Lok Sabha seats in Manipur. BJP failed to open its account here. BJP got 16.58 percent votes here. There is one Lok Sabha seat in Sikkim. Sikkim Krantikari Morcha won this seat.
