BJP could not make 1 crore members in a country of 140 crores, when the target was missed then Nadda took the class of big people

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fallen short of the target of making one crore members from across the country on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the membership campaign in New Delhi on September 2 and the target was to connect 1 crore people with the party on September 25, the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also renewed his membership. Then a target was set for each state and party workers started a vigorous membership campaign across the country. But no big state has been able to meet the target set for itself.

Big states miss, three small states exceed target

In terms of figures, Uttar Pradesh is at the top in the membership drive, but in terms of achieving the target, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have won. These are the only three states that have exceeded their respective targets. BJP National President JP Nadda is said to be angry with the lagging behind the rest of the states and some states being far away from the target. If sources are to be believed, in the meeting held in Patna, Nadda has reprimanded Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal and Deputy Chief Ministers of the state government, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. Samrat Chaudhary has been the President of BJP. In July, Dilip Jaiswal was made the President of Bihar BJP in his place.

BJP missed the target at national level

BJP sources said that till September 25, the party could create only 83 lakh new members, which is 17 lakh less than its target. September 25 was the last day of the first phase of the membership campaign. Sources said that Rajasthan and Bihar have proved to be laggards in meeting the target. There is BJP government in both the states. In Rajasthan, the party had won 115 seats by defeating Congress in December last year. There the party has been able to add only 26 lakh members against the target of 55 lakh. Here, there is a coalition government of BJP and Nitish Kumar's party JDU in Bihar. There too, BJP has fallen far short of the target of the membership campaign. Bihar BJP was given a target of adding 65 lakh new members, but it could add only 32 lakh members.

Why did PM Modi take membership of BJP again, what is this 6 year rule?

Angry Nadda reprimanded a lot

Party President JP Nadda held a closed-door meeting in Patna. Sources reveal that he has reprimanded Bihar BJP President and Deputy Chief Minister as well as party MLAs and MLCs. Similarly, BJP's national organization general secretary BL Santosh attended the Rajasthan meeting. He took on the top leadership of the state as well as every MP and MLA and expressed deep displeasure over their indifferent attitude.

Uttar Pradesh is a big state and the national leadership of the party trusts the organization and the leadership of Yogi ji. That is why such an ambitious target was set for us. We are confident that in the second phase we will touch the figure of two crores.

Telangana leaders

Here, in a state like Telangana, where BJP is organizationally weak, only 10 lakh new members have been able to join. Angered by this poor performance, Nadda has reprimanded the state unit and given them a target of making more than 77 lakh members. He recently participated in BJP's membership drive at Haritha Plaza, where he said that even in the worst case scenario, Telangana will have to generate 50 lakh new members. If sources are to be believed, Nadda made it clear that the party posts will be decided on the basis of membership figures only. Uttar Pradesh is at first place with 1.5 crore members. However, despite being at the top, Uttar Pradesh is far away from the target of two crores.

A news published on News18.com includes the statement of a BJP official. It said, 'Uttar Pradesh is a big state and the national leadership of the party trusts the organization and leadership of Yogi ji. That is why such an ambitious target was set for us. We are confident that in the second phase we will touch the figure of two crores.

The good works of UP-MP, Assam-Gujarat also became examples.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Assam together have made 3 crore members so far. Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat are at second and third position respectively and there is very little difference between the two states. Both these states have been successful in achieving 75 percent of their target. Despite being in first place, Uttar Pradesh has been able to achieve only about 65 percent of its target. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the popular face of BJP in the Northeast, ensured enrollment of 50 lakh members against the target of 65 lakh.

Only these states achieved the target

Whereas, among the smaller states, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have performed much more than expected. Of these, Himachal Pradesh is the only Congress ruled state where initial signs of anti-incumbency wave are visible. Keep in mind that Himachal's ruling party Congress had boycotted the Ram Temple inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya. Recently, prominent party leader Rahul Gandhi has made comments like 'dancing and singing' in the consecration ceremony, which is being criticized a lot.
