The statement condemned the Pakistan military's increasing crackdown on dissenting voices and described Naveed's case as another example of a systematic campaign of kidnappings and killings.

Pank said, “We condemn the extrajudicial killing of Naveed Baloch in Panjgur this morning, following his abduction from Hoshab, Balochistan on June 18, 2024. This tragic incident highlights the involvement of the Pakistan Army, which is disappearing dozens of people every month. This systematic campaign of kidnappings must stop, and those responsible must be held accountable.”

Naveed Baloch's lifeless body was found in a desolate corner of Panjgur, bearing marks of torture and brutality. His death shocked the entire community, where whispers of fear and anger lingered in the air.

Baloch Yakjehti also expressed concern over the matter and said, “From enforced disappearances to extrajudicial killings, the policy and practice of the Pakistan Army continues in Balochistan. On June 18, Naveed Baloch was forcibly disappeared from Hoshab, Kech and today his bullet-riddled and tortured body was found in a remote area of Panjgur. The entire state machinery is involved in the genocide of the Baloch nation.

The army is carrying out operations to turn Balochistan into a war zone.”

Human rights groups have documented numerous cases in which people disappeared under mysterious circumstances and their bodies were later found bearing marks of torture.

This pattern of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and dumping of bodies has created a climate of fear and distrust among the communities affected by these actions.

The practice has sparked protests in Pakistan and abroad, demanding accountability and justice for the victims and their families.

International human rights organisations have repeatedly called on Pakistan to thoroughly investigate these cases, prosecute those responsible, and uphold its obligations under international law to protect the rights of all individuals within its borders.
