Ashish Nehra gave special advice to Rohit and Kohli, said this about Gautam Gambhir before the Sri Lanka series

New Delhi. The Indian team has reached Sri Lanka. This is India's first series under Gautam Gambhir's coaching. Along with Gambhir, the selectors have given place to the best players in the T20 and ODI team. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also been given a place in the team for the ODI series. Meanwhile, Ashish Nehra has given special advice to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and said that they should behave friendly with the coach so that the atmosphere of the dressing room remains good.

Talking to Sports Tak, Ashish Nehra said, “After the T20 World Cup, it seemed that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would take a break from ODI cricket. But this did not happen. They will play a series against Sri Lanka. Gautam Gambhir is the new coach of the team. All of them should now mingle with each other, so that the atmosphere in the dressing room remains good. It does not matter how many years you have known each other.”

Talking further about the 2027 World Cup, Nehra said, “It depends on how motivated you are about the game. But if we talk about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, they know how to manage it well. From here your age will increase. You will also have to keep an eye on the young players. Players like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan will have prepared well by then and will be scoring a lot of runs.”

The Indian team will tour Sri Lanka for three T20 Internationals and as many ODIs. As per the earlier schedule, the first T20 International match was to be played on July 26, but now it will be held on July 27. After this, there will be two T20 matches on July 28 and July 30. All the matches will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The first ODI will be played on August 2. After this, the remaining ODIs will be held on August 4 and August 7.
