Narendra Modi suggested that we should also go. The very next day, i.e. on July 4, a team boarded a helicopter carrying essential items for the soldiers. During this time, Narendra Modi and Prem Kumar Dhumal also left for Kargil.

Dhumal said that we visited Kargil with Narendra Modi. Then we went to hospitals to meet injured soldiers, distribute essential items to them and talk to them. When we were passing through the hospital wards, an emotional moment came. A soldier wrapped in a sheet did not come forward to take the distribution material. Worried, we kept his things on a nearby table. Then a doctor came and told that this brave soldier had recently lost both his hands and legs in a mine blast. As soon as Narendra Modi heard this, he got emotional and placed his hand on the soldier's head.

Dhumal told that inspiring incident

Dhumal further said that Narendra Modi put his hand on the head of the soldier and asked him if he was in pain. The soldier's answer was very humble and inspiring. He said no, the pain is over because yesterday we conquered Tiger Hill. This shows that the victory over Tiger Hill has boosted the morale of these soldiers, even though they had to endure physical pain. Hearing this, Narendra Modi and Dhumal became very emotional, they spent a lot of time with the soldiers. While returning from Kargil, they also visited the Amarnath cave, where they prayed for the army personnel and the country.
