After UGC-NET, now CBI has filed FIR in NEET-UG paper leak case, NTA is also on the radar

New Delhi : The CBI will now investigate the alleged paper leak case in the UGC-NET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 18 and the NEET-UG exam on May 5. After UGC NET, the CBI has also registered an FIR in the alleged paper leak case of the NEET-UG exam on June 23 on the complaint received from the Ministry of Education. The CBI will not only find out the 'paper leak gang' in both the papers, but if any senior officer or any lower employee of NTA is involved in this case, then the CBI will also arrest him. The special team formed by the CBI in this case has also reached Patna and Godhra. In the Patna case, it is said that the CBI team was also attacked there.

A CBI official said that the first case was registered on June 20 on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Secretary of the Education Department of the Government of India on June 19. The UGC-NET paper conducted by NTA in two shifts across the country on June 18 is suspected to have been leaked. In this case, the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center, an agency working under the Union Home Ministry, had given some concrete inputs in the paper leak case. After that, along with cancelling this exam, its investigation was handed over to the CBI.

Earlier in this case, there was a huge uproar across the country regarding the NEET-UG exam conducted by NTA on May 5. In which the possibility of leakage of this paper was raised. After this, now after a written complaint given to the CBI by the Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, the CBI has registered another FIR due to the possibility of alleged paper leak in the NEET-UG exam. The CBI said that allegations have been made in the FIR that the NEET (UG)-2024 exam was conducted by the NTA on May 5 at 4,750 centers in 571 cities of the country. This also included 14 cities abroad. More than 23 lakh candidates had taken this exam. The complaint states that different incidents came to light in some states during the NEET (UG) 2024 exam.

In view of such apprehensions and incidents, the Ministry of Education has requested the CBI to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all the alleged irregularities. This includes conspiracy, fraud, impersonation, betrayal and destruction of evidence by candidates, institutions and middlemen as well as all other attempts related to paper leak. Now the CBI has started a comprehensive investigation into these.

The CBI official also said that the ministry has also told the CBI that if any government employee associated with the conduct of the examination is involved in irregularities, then investigation should be conducted against him too, no matter what his post is. The CBI says that in this case, cases have already been registered by the local police in Patna and Godhra in Gujarat. The CBI will take over these cases registered by the state police in this case and start investigating them too.
