The Bangalore court has rejected the petition of Kannada film actor Darshan Thagudipa, in which he had asked for home-cooked food for himself in jail. This means that now Darshan will not get home-cooked food in jail. Darshan Thagudipa has been in jail since June 11 on the charge of murdering fan Renukaswamy for 33 years. The Bangalore court not only refused to give home-cooked food to Darshan, but also refused to give him other facilities. During the hearing in the court, Darshan Thagudipa's lawyer had argued that he is an actor and hence he needs a healthy diet so that he can keep his body and lifestyle right. The lawyer had argued that Darshan Thagudipa has suffered from food poisoning and diarrhea due to the food being given in the jail.

According to the report of 'Dainik Bhaskar', on this argument of Darshan's lawyer, special public prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar said that Darshan Thagudipa should not be given any special facility in the jail. Later, the court, while giving the verdict after the hearing, refused to accept Darshan Thagudipa's demand for home-cooked food and other special facilities and rejected the petition. The court said that Darshan will get the same food in the court which is given to other prisoners.
