Action against captain du Plessis after Virat Kohli out controversy, match referee gave punishment

After the team's defeat, RCB captain Faf du Plessis was found guilty of violating the IPL code of conduct. A fine of Rs 12 lakh was imposed in this case. Du Plessis was found guilty of slow overrate in RCB's one-run defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders. “Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis has been fined for slow overrate against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 36th match of the Indian Premier League 2024,” the IPL said in a statement.

This was RCB's first offense of the season. On the other hand, Curran was fined half of his match fee for a level one offense under Section 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct in the match against Gujarat Titans. This crime is in the context of expressing dissatisfaction with the umpire's decision. “Curran has committed a Level 1 offense under Section 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct,” an IPL release said. He has accepted the crime and the punishment. In case of a level one offence, the match referee's decision is final and binding.
