ACC's big decision, Under-19 Women's T20 Asia Cup will be organized


Kuala Lumpur. A big news has come out for women's cricket. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah on Wednesday announced the launch of the Women's Under-19 T20 Asia Cup. It will be held every two years and will be an important tournament to prepare for the Youth T20 World Cup.

This decision was taken in the meeting of the Executive Board of ACC chaired by Shah. Shah will take over as the President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from December 1. The purpose of this tournament is to provide valuable experience to the emerging women cricketers of Asia by giving them an opportunity to compete on the international stage. Which will ultimately help the Asian teams to perform better on the world stage.

This decision has been taken to promote women's cricket. The Asia Cup for senior women's teams is played in T20 format. Earlier it was played in ODI format. The Indian team has won it the most number of times i.e. 7 times. Sri Lanka's team won it for the first time this time by defeating India in the final. Bangladesh's team has also won this title once.

Shah said, “The introduction of the Women’s Under-19 Asia Cup is a major milestone that provides young female cricketers with a much-needed platform to develop their skills and showcase their talent. This initiative strengthens the future of women’s cricket in Asia and we are proud of the lasting impact these decisions have had, not only within our member nations but also across the global cricket community.”
