Last month, Aamir Khan's elder son Junaid Khan debuted in Aditya Chopra's 'Maharaja' based on the 1862 Maharaj defamation case, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. The film was reportedly in the pipeline for 3 years and even after its release, it faced several legal troubles. Very few people know that if everything went right, Junaid would have made his debut in 'Lal Singh Chaddha', the official remake of Tom Hanks' film 'Forrest Gump'.

'I actually auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha'

Speaking to ETimes, Junaid said, “I had actually auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha, which papa had spoken about publicly, but it didn't work out. Papa (Aamir Khan) wanted me to do the film.” When asked which role he had auditioned for, director Siddharth P Malhotra revealed that it was the lead role in Laal Singh Chaddha. Siddharth further added, “This was the audition that Adi (Aditya Chopra) and I saw and what an audition it was, it was amazing and if that clip ever gets released it would be great.”

Junaid lost 26 kilos

Actually Junaid has done a lot of body transformation before coming into the industry and he has lost about 26 kg of weight. When he was asked if his brother-in-law Nupur Shikhare, who is a fitness freak, had a hand in his transformation? So he told that he was not behind it but there was something else, I could not compete there. When I auditioned for the film Lal Singh Chaddha, my weight had started decreasing by then, I lost a lot of weight in a year and after about a year Adi sir said about Maharaj – Look you have lost a lot of weight and you are really looking good, but a little more. So it took me 2 years to lose weight.
