New Delhi. Chennai Super Kings captain Rituraj Gaikwad has given a big gift to his 'guru' Mahendra Singh Dhoni on his birthday. Gaikwad is celebrating his 43rd birthday today i.e. on 7th July. At the same time, Gaikwad gave a big gift to his hero by playing an innings of 77 runs against the host team in Zimbabwe. Right-handed batsman Rituraj played an important role in giving the team a big win by scoring an unbeaten 77 off 47 balls in the second T20 match against Zimbabwe.
Rituraj Gaikwad, who captained CSK in the IPL, could not do anything special in the first T20 of the series against Zimbabwe. He played a courageous innings in the second match. Rituraj hit 11 fours and a six in 47 balls. He shared a 137-run partnership with Abhishek Sharma for the second wicket. After this, he added an unbeaten 87 runs for the third wicket with Rinku Singh. Dhoni turned 43 on Sunday. He cut the birthday cake at the hotel with wife Sakshi early in the morning.
India made its highest score against Zimbabwe
The Indian team scored 234 runs for 2 wickets on the basis of a brilliant century of 100 runs in 47 balls by young player Abhishek Sharma, unbeaten 77 by Rituraj and unbeaten 48 runs by Rinku Singh. After this, due to the excellent performance of the bowlers, Team India did not let the host team play the full 20 overs and bundled them out for 134 runs. This is India's highest score in T20 International against Zimbabwe, before this the highest score was 186 runs. The third T20 match of the series will be played in Harare on 10 July.
