The real challenge for BJP and Congress in Haryana will come after the elections!

New Delhi : The election campaign should be in full swing and there should be more than one contender for the post of CM in the parties. This is normal. But during the election campaign, if more than one leader within the party is publicly claiming for the post of CM and the high command is not only silently watching but also encouraging it, then this is not at all normal. Exactly the same is happening in Haryana. The same is happening in both the major parties BJP and Congress. Many leaders in both the parties are openly expressing their claim for the post of CM and the high command is silent because it hopes to benefit in the elections from such statements or claims. But this strategy of silence for electoral gains can prove to be a headache for both the parties after the elections. Whether BJP or Congress wins the elections, it will not be easy to choose the Chief Minister after the elections. Often during elections, parties keep an eye on the public statements of the contenders for the post of Chief Minister. They are afraid of factionalism. But the surprising thing is that the party itself gives air to such statements and even if it does not give air, it maintains silence. The same thing happened in both BJP and Congress in Haryana. Congress hopes that this time its exile from power in Haryana may end after 10 years. But there are many contenders for the post of Chief Minister in the party. Not only is former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda there, Sirsa MP Kumari Selja is also there. Randeep Surjewala is also considered very special in the Gandhi family. Interestingly, neither Shailja nor Surjewala is contesting the assembly elections. Only Bhupendra Singh Hooda is contesting the assembly elections.

There is a strategy behind Congress's silence on the public statements of Hooda, Shailja or Surjewala regarding their claim for the post of CM during the elections. He hopes to get electoral benefits from these statements. Shailja is the Dalit face of Congress in Haryana. She is considered a staunch rival of Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Sirsa MP Shailaja has openly expressed her claim for the post of Chief Minister. It is being told that he has got tickets on 75 to 80 percent seats of Congress in the assembly elections, which the Hooda camp wanted. Due to this, news of Shailaja's displeasure also came to light during the elections but she termed it as a rumour.

Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala is also eyeing the CM's chair. While Shailja is a Dalit face, Surjewala is considered to have a good influence in Kaithal and its surrounding areas. Congress is silent on the candidature of these two for the post of CM because it hopes that this will create enthusiasm among the workers supporting both the leaders and the party will benefit from that enthusiasm in the elections.

Same story is in BJP also. The party has already announced to contest the elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, but Union Ministers Rao Inderjit Singh and Anil Vij are openly expressing their desire to have a Chief Minister. The BJP high command is silent on this because it feels that with both the leaders claiming the post of CM, the enthusiasm of their supporters will increase and the party will benefit from it in the elections. Rao Inderjit Singh is Ahir and Vij is Punjabi. These two castes have the ability to decide victory and defeat on at least 20 assembly seats. Through these two leaders, BJP is trying to woo these two castes.

Rao Inderjit Singh has good influence in Ahirwal area. At the same time, Anil Vij is the oldest face of BJP in the state. Even in 2014, he was presenting himself as a contender for the post of CM but the BJP high command chose Manohar Lal Khattar. Khattar completed the first term, but not the second. BJP removed him midway. The party made its own close associate Naib Singh Saini the CM of Haryana and Anil Vij was also removed from the state cabinet. After this, Vij remained angry for a few days. Now he is presenting himself as a contender for the post of CM.

The campaign for Haryana Assembly elections is almost over. Thursday is the last day of election campaigning. Voting will take place on October 5 and the results will be declared on October 8. Whether the victory is of Congress or BJP, their real challenge will start after victory. The challenge is who will become the Chief Minister?
