First played for Pakistan, then debuted for India, made countless records

New Delhi. A star of the Indian cricket team who ruled international cricket for more than two decades. He made his name by breaking almost all the records of the cricket world. Even after almost 10 years of retirement, he has many such records in his name which no one has been able to come close to. We are talking about master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Do you know that before making his debut for India, this legend came to India to play a match for Pakistan.

Whenever a match is played between India and Pakistan, the enthusiasm of the players as well as the fans is palpable. Now both these teams play only in multi-country tournaments. No bilateral series is played between India and Pakistan. There was a time when Pakistan team used to tour India and Indian team used to tour Pakistan. On one such tour, in a match played in India, Sachin Tendulkar had fielded in the match for former Pakistan captain Imran Khan.

Came to play for Pakistan before debut

Great batsman Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut in 1989 at the age of 16 against Pakistan under the captaincy of Imran Khan. The amazing thing is that Sachin had fielded for this captain in the match against India. On 20 January 1987, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Cricket Club of India, a friendly match was played between the teams of India and Pakistan. In the 40-40 over match held at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, India was captained by Ravi Shastri, while Pakistan team was captained by Imran Khan. Then 13 year old Sachin Tendulkar fielded for Pakistan in this match.

Imran Khan had got the fielding done

Actually, during lunch time, Pakistan players Javed Miandad and Abdul Qadir left the field. When the Pakistan team came out for fielding, there was one player less and Sachin Tendulkar was sent to the field for fielding. Master Blaster has revealed this in his auto biography 'Playing It My Way'. He has written that before debuting for India in 1989, I played for Pakistan in 1987. Came to field for Pakistan in the match against India. Sachin wrote that former Pakistan captain Imran Khan would hardly remember that he had fielded me for fielding.

It is impossible to break Sachin Tendulkar's record.

The Master Blaster made an impressive record of playing 200 Test matches in his career spanning over two decades. It seems impossible to break this record of Sachin Tendulkar. Till now no player has been able to even come close to this. England fast bowler James Anderson has recently announced his retirement after playing 188 Tests. Sachin has scored 51 centuries in Test cricket. It seems impossible to break this record. In current cricket, no batsman has been able to even come close to him.
