Modi will visit Ukraine next month, PM's first visit amid Moscow-Kiev tension, know full details


New Delhi: PM Modi will visit Ukraine next month i.e. in August. This will be the PM's first visit after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met at the G7 summit in Italy. Then the two leaders warmly welcomed each other with a hug. Zelensky also congratulated Modi on winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It is believed that Modi may leave for Ukraine on August 23. In a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Uzbek city of Samarkand in September 2022, PM Modi had said that today is not the time for war. The Russian leader should end the Ukraine conflict. His message also received praise from world leaders. Since the war began, India has said that it can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

In Russia, Prime Minister Modi was also awarded Russia's highest civilian honor, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle Award by Putin for exceptional services in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries.
